Today should be easy. All I want is for you to tell us what you have accomplished so far during the Holiday Break Reading Challenge. How many books have you read? How many reviews have you written? Have you caught up on other blogging duties? You don't have to create a separate post for this activity. Simply leave your status in the COMMENT SECTION of this post. That way everyone will be able to read what you've been up to.
Here is my status update:

2.Misguided Angel by Melissa Dela Cruz
3.Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
4.Frostbite by Richelle Mead
5.Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead
6.Blood Promise by Richelle Mead
I've read 7 books and written the reviews for them. Some are scheduled for later publication. I'm trying to get a little bit ahead. I'm at 60% of book number 8.
ReplyDeleteI am scheduled out until Jan. 4 at Inside of Dog but just keeping up at Ms. Martin Teaches Media. Next up on the reading list is Five Flavors of Dumb.
I've read 4 books so far: Amy and Roger's Epic Detour, The Education of Bet, The Thief, and Anna and the French Kiss. I've also written reviews for the first three.
ReplyDeleteI've read 7 books and posted the reviews of two. Today I will be scheduling the reviews for the rest of the books.
ReplyDeleteI plan to read atleast 4 more books for the challenge.
I have read 6 books so far:
ReplyDeleteThe Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis
Shadow Days by Andrea Cremer
Sucks To Be Me by Kimberly Pauley
Matched by Ally Condie
Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis
I planned on reading a book a day, but that kind of fell through. Maybe I can catch up, but I doubt it.
I have also written 5 reviews, but I hope to write at least 7 more.
I have read 4 books. Pretty pathetic considering that they were very EASY reads. I've read 3 Trixie Belden books and the other book was The Treasure Map of Boys by E. Lockhart. I wrote a review for The Treasure Map of Boys. My goal is to finish 7 more Trixie Belden books before the end of the year. Considering that I have Christmas decorations still to take down I'm getting a bit panicky that that won't happen. When I am finished with the Trixie Belden series I will then write a post about the entire series of 39 books. Lofty goal? I hope not!
ReplyDeleteMy goals for this holiday break were (in no certain order)
ReplyDelete1. Organize the craft room - haven't even gone in there yet!
2. Get some organization to my book shelves - all my fiction books are now in order alpha by author starting with children's picture books - to chapter books to teen/young adult books and finally general fiction. I still have to organize my non fiction. But my autographed and collectible books are in a special place and I filled one shelf with all the books I own but haven't read. I even filled three boxes of books to give to Goodwill.
3. Finish a few craft projects - finished two, but not the one that one I really wanted finish. Hopefully, I'll finish it before the end of the break.
4. Read, read, read! - I finished five books. And I blogged/reviewed four of them.
I have finished and reviewed:
ReplyDeleteNight Road
A Christmas Carol
Unearthly
Revolution
Firelight
Marcelo in the Real World
I have also tweaked my blog, added the linked in gadget and some other little things. I'm searching for a new blog template to add after the new year. I did my first VIDEO for In My Mailbox, and I joined the 350 Page Challenge for 2011. I've worked on my end-of-year favorite books post also.
I still plan to finish reading The Last Full Measure, and hopefully one other book - maybe Linger.
I have read and reviewed one book, The Lock Artist by Steve Hamilton. I also figured out what I want to do with reviews. I wish I had done more activities, because I had fun with those last year, but alas, I did not.
ReplyDelete1. Tokyo Mew Mew, Volume 1
ReplyDelete2. Zoey Zeta and The Sisters of Power, Family Secrets
3. The Gunwitch: Outskirts of Doom
4. Calamity Jack (Rapunzel's Revenge, #2)
5. Sapphique
6. Gregor the Overlander
So far I've read 6 books. I plan to read about 20 more or so... a lot of the manga I'm behind on and hopefully a YA novel or four. :)
Currently working on Nightshade, Hexbound, and Sakura Taisen.
I haven't posted any reviews, but I have a huge backlog I'll be working on today and tomorrow. Otherwise, I've just been talking a lot to my new blog partner April Nichole, who is going to start on the blog come the new year. :) Oh and I went through one of my email accounts and pared it down a few hundred emails.

I started Wolfsbane and An Object of Beauty, but I don't know that I'll finish them right now because I want to start other ones. I'll probably read at least 4 or 5 more before the end, depending on if they're good ones or not. I haven't written reviews for anything. I never know what to say for them. :)
I've been doing pretty well on my goals. I'm about a third of the way through Don Quixote which is my big challenge that I'm reading a bit at a time. I also finished Foucault's Pendulum, which was another challenging, but good book. I've also read:
ReplyDeleteSarah's Key
The Guardian of the Dead
The Sunday Philosophy Club
Please Ignore Vera Dietz
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ
Three Rivers Rising
I haven't done any reviews yet, but I hope to write a couple before break is over.
Right now I'm reading:
Freedom
Rebecca
The Teahouse Fire
The Center of the World
I hope to finish most of them by the end of break, but I don't know if I can make it!
I've read lots of books so far, but am getting a little bogged down in some of the adult books I'm reading/ listening to as well. I'm loving them, but they're not as quick as the YA ones...But, I've just finished a 19-CD audiobook version of Jonathan Franzen's Freedom. Man, what a great listen that was! I was addicted.
ReplyDeleteI've also written several posts that will be up in January. I've only reviewed one book this week, but I've written about 5-7 posts that'll go up in January/ Feb. I've also written some giveaway posts for giveaway hops I'm participating in.
And, I've been to the post office (finally) after digging out of 18 inches of snow today. I sent off quite a few books...Some from ARC tours, some sold on amazon, and others given away. Fun!
I still have lots to do, and am hoping that tomorrow will be super productive. I have major plans for the rest of the week, so I need to use what little time I have left.
Why does vacation fly by so very quickly?? I need to figure out how to slow down and appreciate my FREEDOM!
